President Welcome Address
Dear Readers,
It is with immense pride and joy that I welcome you to this commemorative edition of our magazine, celebrating the triple anniversary of the Bali Old Boys Association Washington DC Chapter (BOBA-DC), the Bali Old Boys Association (BOBA), and the Cameroon Protestant College Bali (CPC Bali).
This year marks a monumental milestone for our community, as we celebrate 35 years of BOBA-DC, 50 years of BOBA, and an incredible 75 years of CPC Bali. As we gather on November 1st and 2nd, 2024, at the prestigious Gaylord National Resort in Maryland, we are not merely celebrating years of existence, but the rich history, legacy, and the indomitable spirit that has carried us through decades.
This triple anniversary is a testament to our resilience, unity, and the enduring bonds that have shaped our journey. Our association has always been a beacon of camaraderie, excellence, and service, and it is these values that we continue to uphold and pass on to future generations. Reflecting on our journey, we acknowledge the contributions of all our members, past and present. I would like to celebrate all the past Presidents and their executives, and the founders in particular, for laying such a solid foundation for BOBA-DC. Today, as your President, my work is made easier because of the by-laws, structured monthly meetings, and your unwavering support. Each member has played a pivotal role in making BOBA DC, BOBA, and CPC Bali what they are today. Your dedication, passion, and commitment are the pillars of our success.
We've always played leading roles in BOBA-USA, manning conventions, faithfully paying our dues, celebrating one another’s successes, and supporting the grieving. As we move forward, let us continue to support each other, nurture our legacy, and strive for greater heights. CPC Bali, our alma mater, stands proudly at 75 years old. One of the ways we want to continue its vision is by supporting the school to thrive in these contemporary times. BOBA-DC is committed to backing the projects initiated by BOBA and its Foundations to ensure CPC Bali continues to be a beacon of education and inspiration. Our goal is to provide the necessary resources and support to help the school navigate and excel in the modern educational landscape.
As I reflect on my own journey, I entered CPC Bali in September 1986 and left in 1993. I thought it was a life-changing experience until I joined BOBA. Without my BOBA connection, I don’t think my career could have taken the impactful turn it has today. To all aspiring and young BOBANs, hold firm the fort. You have a better experience awaiting you beyond the campus. Attend BOBA meetings as much as you can and start preparing your success story. To our readers, I hope this magazine serves as a cherished keepsake, capturing the spirit and essence of our celebration.
Let it remind us of our roots, inspire us to maintain our bonds, and motivate us to contribute to the growth and success of our community. Together, let us embrace this momentous occasion with pride and joy. Here’s to 35, 50, and 75 years of excellence, unity, and progress! Long live BOBA Long live CPC Bali ERNEST NCHAMUKONG President, BOBA-DC Chapter
